Pertaringa Two Gentlemen's GSM 2021 - UK

Regular price $32.00

Location: McLaren Vale

Story: A testament to the co-founders of Pertaringa, Geoff Hardy, and Ian Leask - true gentlemen showing depth and generosity of character, just like our GSM.

Vineyard: This blend is very close to one third of each of the three varieties. The Grenache is sourced from the Dog Ridge vineyard on Bayliss Road at Tatachilla with vines planted in 1985. The Shiraz is from the Lower Tintara vineyard in Blewitt Springs, which was originally planted by Thomas Hardy and is now owned by John Hardy. The Mourvédre was planted in 2007 and is from The Wetlands Vineyard on California Road, also in the Tatachilla region.

Soils: The Dog Ridge vineyard has shallow red clay loam over Pirramimma Sandstone from the Pleistocene (2.6 million years old). The Lower Tintara Shiraz is on sandy loam soils called Maslin Sands, which are between 34 and 56 million years old. The Wetlands Vineyard is not far from the Dog Ridge Bayliss vineyard, also on Pirramimma Sandstone.

Harvest Date: 6 April (Dog Ridge), 18 March (Lower Tintara), 19 March (The Wetlands Vineyard)

Winemaking: All varieties were fermented separately and aged 9 months in seasoned French oak before the final blend, which happened just before bottling.

Nose: The nose offers elegant and attractive aromas of red berries, plums, white pepper, and black olives.

Palate: The palate is vibrant and complex with red berries and plums, followed by a long, smooth finish.

Cellaring: Drink now to 2028

Alc: 14.5% TA: 5.88g/L
pH: 3.52 RS: 0.8g/L
