Region: McLaren Vale 

Story: Pertaringa was founded by Geoff Hardy in 1980 and is now owned by his daughter, Bec. The Heritage Series celebrates our history, drawing inspiration from labels used at the turn of the millennium.

Vintage: The McLaren Vale wine region experienced good winter rains filling the soil profile in readiness for spring. Conditions were cool for a majority of the growing season which resulted in a later harvest than average with elegant wines that expressed their terroir.

Vineyards: Lower Tintara & Picnic Grounds vineyards, both on Kays Rd, McLaren Vale.

Soils: Both vineyards are on sandy loam.

Geology: The geology in this part of McLaren Vale is Maslin sands formed during the Eocene (56 - 43 million years ago).

Harvest Dates: 29 February (Lower Tintara)/ 4 March (Picnic Grounds)2024

Winemaking:  Parcels were harvested and fermented seperately in static stainless steel fermenters for 9 days on skins before pressing directly to oak. Matured for 10 months in French and American oak.

Nose: The nose offers complex aromas of plums, dark fruits, dried herbs and hints of mint.

Palate: The palate is bright and textural with dark berries, plums and subtle spices, complemented by an elegant and lengthy finish.

Cellaring: Drink now to 2032

Alc: 14.5% TA: 6.22g/L
pH: 3.59 RS: 1.0g/L
