Our Lot 94 BSR vineyard captures the terroir of Blewitt Springs, long celebrated as the jewel of McLaren Vale, where dry-grown vines planted by Geoff Hardy in the early ’90s reach deep into sandy soils to produce single-block wines of finesse and longevity. As a certified member of Sustainable Winegrowing Australia, we craft wines that honour both land and legacy.

This 6-pack includes 2 bottles each of;

Lot 94 BSR Chardonnay 2024
After harvesting at night the grapes were quickly pressed off skins at the winery. Fermentation in both stainless steel tanks and new and seasoned French oak hogheads. 100% barrel maturation for 5 months on light lees with regular lees stirring for complexity and partial malo-lactic fermentation. The nose offers aromas of lemon rind, lychee and white pear blossoms with toasty almond notes to finish. The palate is lively with zesty notes of lime, green apple, green mango and a well-rounded mouthfeel from time spent in oak.

Lot 94 BSR Tempranillo 2024
This Spanish variety is so well suited to McLaren Vale and this dry-grown example shows Tempranillo at its best. This small parcel of fruit was fermented in open fermenters then spent 6 months in old oak before bottling young and fresh. The resultant wine shows a confluence of red berries including strawberries and boysenberry meld together with hints of wild fennel and tobacco and a smooth finish. 

Lot 94 BSR Syrah 2023
We produce a number of Shiraz wines in the Bec Hardy stable, however this one is quite different from our others, with great acidity and plenty of peppery spice, which is why we decided to label it as Syrah, rather than Shiraz. This cooler plant of McLaren Vale has resulted in a wine that is more reminiscent of the Rhone Valley than a traditional riper McLaren Vale style Shiraz. Perfumed black cherry and white pepper nose with lifted fruit where plum, black cherry and spice flavours carry through to the palate. These flavours are balanced by a fine persistent tannin structure and a lovely elegance and structure.
