Vintage: McLaren Vale experienced good winter rains filling the soil profile in readiness for spring. Continued wet and cold conditions through out spring delayed budburst and resulted in slower shoot growth and low crops. The cool conditions continued through the growing season and into 2023 calendar year, which resulted in a later harvest than average with rich and elegant wines.
Winemaking: Small batch open fermenter, 18 months in new and aged French oak.
Nose: The nose offers complex and concentrated aromas of plums, and other dark fruits including mulberries dried herbs and hints of leather.
Palate: The palate is supple with berry fruit, liquorice and tobacco notes. The seamless oak integration and beautiful palate weight is complemented by excellent length and plush tannins.
