Bec Hardy Pinot Noir 2026 | 12 Pack
Region:Â Adelaide Hills
Vineyard:  This wine is a single vineyard Pinot Noir from the Shaw Vineyard at Prospect Hill in the southern Adelaide Hills. Adelaide Hills is around 3°C cooler than McLaren Vale where all our other reds are sourced, this cooler climate is ideal for premium Pinot Noir. This clone of Pinot Noir is D4V2 which is a University California Davis clones and we believe produces some of the best Pinot Noir grapes in Australia.
Soils: The soils in this vineyard are clay loam soils from the Prospect Hill volcanic geological complex. These have great water holding capacity and are quite fertile, so little irrigation is required.Â
Harvest date: 7 April 2026
Winemaking: The Pinot grapes were picked in early April while it was cool so arrived at the winery at a perfect temperature for ferment that allowed for bright fresh fruit flavour retention. Gentle treatment through ferment involved minimal 'handling' of the fruit, with cap wetting of the ferment twice daily to extract flavour, colour, and tannins from the skins. After 8 days ferment on skins, the wine was pressed to seasoned oak for 3 months before early bottling. Â Â
Nose:Â Lifted bright cherry fruits with elegant spicy notes.Â
Palate:Â These cherry notes follow onto the palate which is medium bodied as well as notes of dark berries and earthy spice. Soft oak tannins complement the fruit structure and give length to the finish. An approachable wine showing great generosity of varietal fruit flavour.Â
Cellaring:Â Drink now to 2032
