The Kyalla vineyard is located just outside McLaren Flat and three blocks from this vineyard go into the blend, one block planted in 1941 and the other two blocks in 1993. The Klaveniek vineyard Shiraz vines are 20 years old and is located on McMurtrie Road.

Soils: The Lower Tintara vineyard is on sandy loam soils called Maslin Sands, which are between 34 and 56 million years old. Kyalla Vineyard is on alluvial soils from the Holocene. The Klaveniek vineyard is on Biscay soils from the Kurrajong formation (10,000 to 2.6 million years old).

95 points - Wine Pilot, 2023
"An absolutely cracking McLaren Vale Shiraz from a top vintage, what more could you want? Small batch ferment, eight days on skins, and then maturation for 18 months in French oak. The colour is a vibrant and yet near opaque magenta with ripe flavours just oozing through here. Chocolate, mocha and coffee bean notes, this is rich and full with big, bold flavours. Expect this to provide great pleasure over the next decade and more. If this rich style is your thing, you’ll love this."

94 points - Wine Orbit, 2023
"It's richly expressed on the nose, showing blackberry, dark plum, warm spice and cedar characters on the nose, leading to a weighty palate that's filled with succulent fruit flavours and spicy nuances. Splendidly framed by silky tannins, finishing supple and lingering. At its best: now to 2025."

93 points - Wine Showcase new release tasting, 2023

90 points - James Suckling, 2023
"A rich and exuberant Shiraz with violets, crushed stones and cracked pepper. Full-bodied, fleshy and concentrated, this has satiny tannins and a lavish, abundantly fruity finish."
