The Eighth China International Import Expo (CIIE) showcased a diverse range of global specialty products seeking entry into the Chinese market, highlighting China’s expanding consumer demand and openness. Exhibitors - from New Zealand’s Pacific Alpacas and Colombia’s Lok Foods to Australia’s Bec Hardy Wines and numerous Swiss and Brazilian enterprises, reported significant growth, new partnerships, and rising brand recognition driven by the expo. China’s supportive import policies also helped least-developed countries gain market access, with agricultural producers from Ethiopia and others benefiting from increased visibility and trade opportunities. Newcomers, including Spanish food artisans and Nepalese handicraft makers, also used the platform to introduce their traditional products, reflecting how small ambitions can grow into major opportunities through the CIIE.
