A New Chapter at The Kitchen at Bec Hardy: Relaxed, Seasonal Dining in the Heart of McLaren Vale
At The Kitchen at Bec Hardy, change is in the air - and on the plate.
As we move into winter and look ahead to spring, we’re embracing a fresh direction rooted in the values that define McLaren Vale and Bec Hardy Wines: sustainability, generosity, creativity, and connection.
With the recent resignation of our talented Chef Connor Bishop - whom we thank warmly for his leadership and creativity over the past few years - we’ve taken the opportunity to reflect on the future of the dining experience at our McLaren Vale cellar door.
Casual Elegance Meets Seasonal Simplicity
The Kitchen at Bec Hardy will shift away from the previous Feed Me menu format and more formal dining approach (which earned us Two Hats and a place among South Australia’s top restaurants). Instead, we’re leaning into something a little more relaxed - but no less special.
Expect a welcoming new vibe built around:
- Seasonal grazing plates showcasing local, sustainable ingredients
- À la carte specials inspired by what’s fresh and available
- A casual, come-as-you-are environment perfect for long lunches and shared moments
We believe this direction is a better reflection of our setting, our guests, and the warmth of McLaren Vale hospitality - not to mention a more sustainable and flexible approach through the quieter winter months.
A South Australian Wine & Food Destination
Set amongst the stunning native gardens and vineyards of our estate, just minutes from the world-famous beaches and cellar doors of McLaren Vale, our cellar door experience continues to offer:
- Bespoke wine tastings hosted by our passionate team
- Exceptional wines crafted by sixth-generation South Australian vigneron Bec Hardy
- Immersive food and wine experiences that evolve with the seasons
While our food offering is changing, our commitment to quality and guest experience is not.
Looking Ahead
As we move towards spring, we’ll be recruiting for a new culinary role that reflects this updated direction - someone who brings a love for local produce, creativity in a casual format, and a flair for creating deliciously memorable moments.
We’re incredibly proud of what The Kitchen has achieved over the past few years and even more excited about where it’s heading.
We invite you to rediscover The Kitchen at Bec Hardy - a place to sip, savour and slow down.
