Story: The quintessential Australian red, this Pertaringa Shiraz offers everything that has made this variety famous down under.
Vintage:The 2019 growing season started with mild weather and below average rainfall. Some late spring rain provided a bit of relief from the dry conditions. A heatwave in January was luckily too early in the ripening cycle to cause any damage to the fruit. This was followed by a very mild and dry finish to the vintage, allowing good hang time and flavour development to the smaller than average crop.
Nose: The nose displays notes of plums, pepper and a hint of dark cherries.
Palate: The palate is elegant with great flavours of plums, cherries and black pepper, finishing delightfully smooth and lingering.
Food Pairings: A beautifully versatile food wine, this wine will go just as well with a summer barbeque as it would with a hearty beef stew in winter.
Cellaring: Drink now to 2027
