Vintage: The 2017 vintage in Barossa Valley happened several weeks later than previous years due to the mild weather throughout the growing season. There were only two short bursts of high temperatures. The rain events that did occur were in January and February and did not cause berry splitting or disease issues. The Indian summer stretched from March through to late April so the weather stayed mild and dry throughout harvest. Although crops were down by 20-30% of the long time average, the quality ended up being fantastic.
Nose: The nose offers complex aromas of dark berries, plums and spice.
Palate: The palate is elegant with plenty of berry fruits and spice, complemented by delicious chocolate notes and fine, soft tannins.
Pairing: Try this wine with a hearty beef stew.
