Bec Hardy and Open Gardens SA invite public to explore the Tipsy Hill gardens

17Feb Bec Hardy and Open Gardens SA invite public to explore the Tipsy Hill gardens

On Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st March, Bec Hardy invites the public to explore the grounds of her Tipsy Hill property for Open Gardens SA. This will be the first time in six years that this South Australian garden treasure is open to the public.

Tipsy Hill is a one-of-a-kind property atop a hill in Blewitt Springs, surrounded by vineyards with views across McLaren Vale and out to the Willunga Hills. Evocative of Mediterranean landscapes, the 2.5 acre garden incorporates winding paths, arches and a vineyard. Tipsy Hill is abundant with flowers, and also incorporates terraces for growing herbs and vegetables for the family to enjoy and for hosting their special intimate dinners for guests. The colourful flower-filled terraces are a maze of exciting smaller, almost secret gardens all linked by paths and offering a variety of seating spots which take advantage of the magnificent views.

The Pertaringa Tipsy Hill Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 (rated 99 points by James Halliday) will be on tasting all weekend, together with other wines and food options. There’ll also be garden tours with Bec Hardy and head gardener Marian McDuie at midday and 3pm.

Tipsy Hill will be open on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st March 2021 from 10am to 4.30pm both days. Download garden notes here.

Address: 309 Blewitt Springs Rd, Blewitt Springs SA 5171
